Day 7
today, i woke up at the ass crack of dawn 6 am so i could get down to the java beach cafe by 8.

so today I was walking in front of this family on O’Farrell St. All of the sudden one of the kids walking behind me yells “OH LOOK ITS A RACCOON!!!!”. Day 4
first day of the track workout.
and holymotherofjesus!
it was hard.
sosososososo hard.
i still have leg cramps in both of my legs.
we had to do two “warm-up” laps around the top of the track,
one lap around the track as fast as we can
(which doesnt work out so well for me because fast isn’t an adjective used to describe me unless you are describing how quickly i fall...

i had a tummy ache.
so i ate two lacey’s dark chocolate & almond cookies,
spicy hot links and rice,
and homemade breaded chicken with ketchup.

i drank water with orange slices.
yes - my appetite has increased over the last day or two.

1986, second baby, Maui Memorial Hospital. Dialated to 8 centimeters on arrival. Even though I know you should have your child’s name all picked out well in advance, I bought into the Japanese tradition of not naming to avoid jinxing.

Day 3
third day of training.
actually, it was “run on my own” day.
Ran 2 miles during lunch.
Must say that it was harder than yesterday, and I am convinced it is because there was no rest day.
Total since Saturday is about 7 miles.
I know it’s not a lot, and it might not be a big deal to anyone else,
but that’s 7 miles more than I’ve ran in a long time.

of half-marathon training, of course!

or, well, haven’t been one since my senior year in high school which is also the last time i played soccer.

3 miles down!!!
Today was the first training session for the SF Marathon.
We had to run 3 miles. I’m not a runner so this is a big deal.
I made it!

Oh, man, have I been in a funk!
Super stressed/behind at work… Struggling to not drown.
Good news - I’m almost there.
We havent spent too much time at our new home because we were cleaning the old one.
Good news: we are DONE! Just have to move a couple chairs and boxes. Hopefully we’ll get it rented before Feb. 1.
