stupid facebook posts, part two i posted the pic of obama with the “friday night lights” reference on my timeline or whatever it is called, and this is what i got. i mean, REALLY? When I wake up and realize it’s not the weekend anymore

pradaanswer: It’s been awhile since I’ve posted about a stray, but I saw this via a friend on FB and couldn’t help but sharing it here. Her name is Annie and she’s scheduled to be put down tomorrow (Thursday).  She’s located in New York, she has been evaluated by several people as very well-behaved. She walks well and appears to be good with people and other dogs. If you (personally, or through a rescue group) can help, please consider this sweet girl!

ajoginthefog: The First Woman to Enter the Boston Marathon In 1967, Katherine Swetzer was the first woman to enter and finish the Boston Marathon.  And she finished in 4:20! The photos shows one of the race organizers, Jock Semple (i wonder if the jock strap was named after him), trying to push her off the course demanding that she give him back the numbers, and her then-boyfriend, Thomas Miller, blocking him.  I read (not in this article) that for the rest of the race, her friends that were also running created a barricade around her so she could safely finish. 5 years later, women were allowed to officially enter the race. WOW!
