we went to go see the picasso exhibit at the deyoung yesterday.
it’s one of those things where we had been talking about going for months and then the last day was approaching and then more time passed and we had to go on the last day.
but!!!!! it was rainy so people were staying indoors and the deyoung is usually closed on mondays, therefore it was not crazy packed in the exhibit.
i love picasso. in college, i used to find a way to incorporate him into almost every paper i had to write (partly because i could recycle previous papers) in order to find some level of enjoyment in my assignments.

well, this is proof that she did. the likeness is so obvious! look at that swinging belly!!! and the claws and teeth! the stripes??!! she was most definitely his muse.

obviously, “guernica” wasn’t there but there were some preliminary drawings/sketches he did for it which allowed for it to be discussed, albeit briefly. (is that comma placed appropriately? oh well.
i love picasso. i think what i love most is that one can see the how his life/moods/current states affected the work he produced. it’s just so passionate and obvious that he lived for his art. i love that.
all very interesting and the best way to spend my rainy day off. id totally recommend it, but… the exhibit is over now. so. sorry?
